Trailer for Two Sheds Theatre Company's dark December offering at Park Theatre. African Gothic is a play about two potentially incestuous twins living on a desolate farm in rural South Africa. Written during the Apartheid era, Reza de Wet’s astonishing play held up a mirror to the dark heart of Afrikaner society, forcing it to take a long and uncomfortable look at itself and the myths that sustained it.
This promotional video had to be finished before the rehearsals began. Challenged with the task of conveying the feel of the play without using any actors, it focusses in on a macro level - slowly creeping across a selection of the most morbid, unsettling and significant props sourced for the show.
